About Lynimar Garage Services

Lynimar Garage Services Ltd is a company that is headed by Jim Player who has been in the garage equipment business since 1966 in one form or another. He started with his father George in the repair of trolley jacks in their first premises at Isleworth in west London trading as South Eastern Tools. George was a salesman for Stenor Ltd at the time selling garage equipment and accessories.

Jim had just left school and was keen to start his own business. George carried on selling and at the same time looked for trolley jacks to repair. They built their business until they out grew the premises in Isleworth. In the early 1980s they re-located to Lambeth, where they carried on expanding until at one stage they had 10 engineers repairing trolley jacks and other small workshop equipment.

In the early 1990s along came the council who suddenly trippled the business rates for small businesses, so they again re-located, this time to Alton in Hampshire. Then in the late 90s George semi-retired, Jim decided to move into the On Site Repair business. South Eastern Tools remained at Alton in the very capable hands of one of the young men they had trained and nurtured to take over. Jim started his on site repair business calling it Lynimar Lift Services based at Normandy Surrey. He built it upuntil he had 5 site engineers servicing mostly commercial customers such as Councils, Bus and Transport Companies, and some MOD sites.

By 2004 George had retired and early that year South Eastern Tools tempted Jim back to Alton to amalgamate the two companies. This arrangement carried on untill August 2008 when Jim decided to move his office closer to where he lived on Hayling Island. He has now re-branded his on site repair business to Lynimar Garage Services Ltd
